Second Stimulus Check Update

Do you feel that a second stimulus to the people is needed?  Leave your response in the poll in the tag right here.

Just a few months after approving the first round of stimulus checks, President Trump has thrown his support behind a second wave of stimulus to help those most hurt by the shaky US economy and the pandemic.

First just know that stimulus does not always mean a physical check.  It’s a term used to stimulate the economy.  Donald Trump said he would like to see a payroll tax cut as a stimulus to help the American economy to continue to recover from the shutdown caused by the pandemic.  Which I go more in detail in this video right here and I will leave a link in the description box below.

The Heroes Act, which passed by the House in May, would include a second direct payment to individuals and households of up to $1,200 per family member, capped at $6,000 for a family of five. Neither White House officials nor McConnell have offered specifics on whether individual payments would be part of their proposals.  But it seems the Senate wants to create its own plan.

The Second Stimulus Check’s fate is in the hands of the U.S. Senate, and based on the latest update it seems the government is torn on whether a second round of the stimulus check is needed as the country moves to reopen.

And now that unemployment on a downward trend, with President Trump announcing the rate is now 13.3%.  Which by no stretch to the imagination, that is still very high!

The Senate is in session until July 3, when they will go on a two-week break surrounding the July Fourth holiday. That gives them more than a month to offer new ideas or extract worthy ones from the HEROES Act.

McConnell is adamant that the Senate will draw up the next relief bill, but didn’t say what it would look like or whether a second round of stimulus checks would be part of it.  McConnell is opposed to extending the $600 a week bonus that the CARES Act adds to state unemployment checks, which expires at the end of July.

The best way to ensure you receive any stimulus payment from the federal government as soon as possible is to provide your bank account’s direct deposit information to the IRS.  I will leave that link below.

Don’t complain about your individual situations in the comment section below.  I am going to encourage you to Contact the offices of your senators and representatives in the U.S. Congress and tell them your stance on this issue.  They are the ones creating policy and laws that will affect you.  I am going to provide a link in the description below to find out who represents you in Congress, what bills they have sponsored, and how they voted.

I’ll update this story with new information as it arises, so make sure you subscribe.
