Growing up in the rural part of North Carolina, having and being surrounded by gardens was a part of life. My family did not have to worry about recalls on food because when you grow your own food you know what you are putting in your body. My 100-year-old grandmother reminds me that she was eating “organic” before people start about eating organic.
When you go out to eat, you are not only paying for the food and drinks that you order, you are also paying for the cooks, wait staff, ambiance, rent for the building, advertising costs and more. Can you frugal this? The answer is absolute, you can still enjoy a frugal meal and not break the bank… that’s with a little creative thinking.
I’ve noticed that the habits of frugal people tend to be universal. While not every frugal person in the world does the things I’ve listed below, there are some common threads like not being wasteful and not being materialistic.
