5 Weird Ways to Make Money

5 Weird Ways to Make Money

Today I want to share with you a list of  5 weird ways that you can make money online.

So, if you’re tired of hearing about “online surveys” and want to know some of the more unusual ways unusual people are using to make money online – then you’re in the right place.  Let the countdown begin.

#5-  Sell your poop

I don’t have some infatuation with human waste, but there is money in poop. All jokes aside, Your feces are perhaps your greatest untapped monetary resource. Thanks to a nonprofit organization called OpenBiome, you can cash in to the tune of $13,000 a year — and save lives while you’re at it. Stool donations are used for research, but also for patients in need of a fecal transplant because of serious medical issues. If you’re serious about selling your poop, look into stool donations here at OpenBiome.

To be eligible to join the registry and start the screening process, you donors must meet the following criteria:

  1. Commit to donating at least four times per week for a 60-day period

  2. Be between 18 and 50 years old

  3. Have a BMI less than 30.  I will put a link in the description below so you can calculate yours.

  4. Must not have traveled outside the U.S., Canada, Europe and Australia in the past year.

#4-  Become a Test Subject

If you don’t mind being poked and prodded, this may be a great gig for you. Be prepared to fill out lots of paperwork on your medical history.  Research studies are an easy way to make money. Yes, it’s not that uncommon to make thousands. Check out local universities for postings. To find these studies, it’s extremely easy and I highly recommend ClinicalTrials.gov , it’s operated by the U.S. National Library of Medicine and basically lists all of the ongoing medical studies in the United States (I’m going to leave a link below). If you decided to take this route, make sure you research all risks that may be involved.  I mean you don’t want to wake up growing horns do ya? But all jokes aside, do your research.

#3- Eat Dog Food

Are you a big foodie who can’t get enough burgers and steak or seafood and sushi?  Why don’t you try dog food? Dogs won’t eat just anything. Dog food companies want your pup to get really excited when you break out their brands—which is why some dog food companies pay for human taste-testers. The job is exactly like it sounds: you eat dog food—wet, dry, and fancy “homemade” varieties—and you get paid. You can makeup to $50,000 a year.  I would have a tic-tac line item in my budget on this one.

#2- Sell Your Friendship

Have you ever met someone and your first thought is, “They need a friend?  We all know one. Yes, friend renting is a thing. There are people who rent themselves out for all sorts of reasons. The attend types of activities, outings, functions and events.  Renting out your friendship to people who need a buddy. Crazy but true! Would you work as a rented friend? RentAFriend.com claims you can make up to $50 per hour on their platform, plus get free meals, concert tickets and more.

And don’t worry; RentAFriend.com says it’s “solely a platonic friendship website only.”

#1-  Pimp Out Your Dog

Before you start leaving me hate comments hear me out.  I’m not talking about breeding because that’s wrong and in many cases, illegal.  But, running a dog kissing booth at festivals can make you some cash. Dog kisses is typically is done to raise money for animal rescue groups, but who knows? Maybe your dog’s slobbery kisses could make you some serious cash. You can get a dollar-per-kiss if you put your dog to work at a kissing booth. Your dog may have to be cute for this one to work.

Have you tried any of these or have you tried any “interesting” ways to make money?  Leave those in the comment section below (keep it legal)! Remember that being frugal isn’t about being cheap, it’s about being resourceful.
